My name is Jonathan, and I am a recent graduate of the sustainable community development program, with a concentration in urban studies, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Currently, I am the scheduler, planner, and data systems manager for the Springfield Area Transit Company, the largest of the five contractors operating transit service for the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority, headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts. My interests include walkability/bikeability, transportation (specifically public transportation), and planning surrounding land-use in urban areas and in city/town centers. The intersection of all of these ideas is particularly fascinating to me.
I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Columbia Greenway Rail Trail as the Director of Planning and Development. In this role, I help the Board advance current and upcoming development projects, as well as work with the City of Westfield to better accommodate pedestrians and cyclists through improved infrastructure.
I grew up in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, a suburban town located in northeastern Massachusetts and roughly 25 miles northwest of the city of Boston. I currently live in Westfield, Massachusetts, a small city roughly 12 miles west of Springfield.
